Our Programs

Our school programs emphasize a experiential approach to education, focusing on enriching each student’s life at every stage of development.

Become part of our vibrant community where each child’s uniqueness is celebrated.

The Marietta Johnson School of Organic Education is now accepting enrollments for full-time and part-time students from Pre-K to 2nd grade for the 2025-2026 school year. Our application fee is waived at this time.

At our school, we emphasize the belief that living is learning, and learning is living. Our individualized, experiential learning approach takes place in a nurturing, non-competitive environment. We aim to develop the whole child using art, nature, & play-based education for a healthy being and sense of self. Our mixed-age classes allow greater opportunities for social development and students are able to remain with the same teacher for multiple years.

Our chosen curriculum reflects these values and are specifically curated for each level of our student’s development. Along with our organic philosophy and outdoor education, we also use the state standards as a framework, along with the Blossom and Root curriculum.

Early Life

Traditionally known as preschool and Kindergarten, we use the name Early Life to denote the development of the younger years, generally ages 3-5 . These years are foundational and incredibly important in how the child’s brain and emotional intelligence develops.

First Life

Our First Life classes are composed of children at the ages found in 1st and 2nd grade classrooms (generally ages 6-7). When children are in combined age classrooms, the learning expounds and more is gained in emotional and social development.

Second Life

As our brains develop we transition from concrete thinking to more abstract concepts, usually between ages 8 and 9, when students are at the age where they typically enter 3rd and 4th grade.

Third Life

At ages 10 and 11, we have all the skills we need for reading, researching and experimenting and are ready to define ourselves and create our own goals. This program enriches the growth needed at this stage.

Fourth Life

Around the ages of 12 and 13, our 7th-8th grade program prepares students for middle school success. We build critical thinking, confidence, and a love of learning in a supportive environment, ensuring a smooth transition.
